Our History
Our story begins with Hermann and Martha Krutzler, who laid the foundation in the 1960s for what we continue today. Hermann was a pioneer who was already breaking new ground in viticulture back then: quality over quantity, origin over fashion. Martha was always by his side – courageous, energetic, full of passion for her work in the vineyard and in the cellar.
In the 1990s, Hermann ran the winery together with his sons Reinhold and Erich. It was a time of change: with a clear vision and consistent quality work, they made the winery famous far beyond the region. At the beginning of the 2000s, Erich finally moved on – today he vinifies his own wines in the Wachau region, but part of his history remains inextricably linked to us.
Today, the winery is in the hands of Reinhold, who has shaped it with courage and consistency – and is now shaping the next stage together with his son Clemens. A common thread runs through the generations: a pioneering spirit, solidarity and the desire to make wines that embody their origins and personality.

With his calm manner and profound knowledge of soils, climate and vines, Reinhold has shaped the style of the winery for decades: clear, precise, focused. He knows when intervention is necessary – and when nature knows better.
Clemens stands for new beginnings and openness. He brings a breath of fresh air to the winery, rethinks viticulture, experiments and combines craftsmanship with a modern outlook. For him, wine is an experience that should be accessible rather than complicated. He sees himself as a bridge between tradition and the future – curious, open-minded and full of ideas. He looks ahead without forgetting his roots.
Together, they are writing a story in which experience and innovation are not contradictory, but rather constitute the strength of the winery.
Our understanding of craftsmanship
Wine is not made in the cellar, but outside in the vineyard. Every action, every moment of waiting and every omission is part of the result. We work in harmony with nature – accompanying rather than controlling.
In the cellar, this means clarity, patience and the confidence to give the wines space. The result is a style that is precise, lively and pure.
Our Vision
We want to make wines that are honest and unadulterated. Wines that speak the language of the our Region and at the same time show our signature. With depth, tension and origin.
We don’t see ourselves as producers, but as caretakers who guide an ecosystem in which people, nature, and culture are in constant dialogue. Our goal: to create balance. Between tradition and modernity, between soil and vine, between people and nature. Wines that reflect our landscape and at the same time express our personality.
