Texture & Finesse

Each of our wines excels for its elegance, suppleness and especially fine minerality. We try to elaborate the unique texture, delicate fruit and regionally typical finesse in each individual wine.

The bold, tannic structure of our top offerings needs some time in the bottle to marry with the fruit flavors. With extended aging, they will please the palate with suppleness and elegance.

Bottling

All our wines are bottled in classic 0.75-liter Bordeaux bottles. Orders are processed in 6- or 12-bottle purchases or shippings. Winery direct-sale is offered upon appointment by e-mail or phone.

Our top wines, Perwolff, Blaufränkisch Reserve and Merlot, are also available in magnum bottles. Customized sizes can be provided in limited numbers on timely request.

Red

Blauer Zweigelt

A truly quaffable wine, and therefore a favorite among our regular customers right from the beginning.

The slightly tart, fruity variety produces a sappy red that is classically vinified and displays delicate cherry and morello aromas and flavors. Deeply colored, this is soft and mellow on the palate and appealing for its harmonious simplicity.

Blaufränkisch

A textbook Blaufränkisch from South Burgenland!

Dark ruby-red, highly expressive, exhibiting aromas and flavors of cherry, sour cherry and berries. Sourced from proven vineyards featuring heavy and deep soils, this savory, uncomplicated offering already unfolds its qualities when young.
Krutzler’s best selling wine!

Alter Weingarten

An „old“ acquaintance that long-term Krutzler wine lovers like to remember. Since it has been frequently sought after, we have reintroduced this single-vineyard wine into our portfolio.

It is a blend of 80% Blaufränkisch and 20% Zweigelt with strong character, promising a long future. Dense ruby-red; pure and deep berry fruit, clear structure and lingering finish. Delicious with roasts and steaks.

Merlot

For long, the sleeper in our portfolio.

This single-varietal red is very elegant and succulent with dense fruit and an extra fine tannic framework. It is sourced from excellent vineyard parcels that have been family-owned for ages.
Like Perwolff, it is always a sell-out because of its high quality, yet low availability.

Blaufränkisch Perwolff

A wine that has significantly contributed to Austria’s red success story from its first vintage of 1992.

Awarded numerous times both at home and abroad, it is the flagship Blaufränkisch of the winery. Elaborately processed from 30- to 50-year-old vines growing in premium sites on the Eisenberg and in Deutsch-Schützen, this is the paradigm of a sophisticated Krutzler Blaufränkisch with typical South-Burgenland profundity.
Perwolff, by the way, is an old name for the village of Deutsch-Schützen – under this name the settlement was first mentioned in the chronicles in 1221.

White

Welschriesling

Refreshing and fruit-driven – a white as it has been made here for centuries and is enjoyed on every occasion.

Thus, the Welschriesling is appreciated by many customers as what it is: a crisp and delicate “Eisenberger“ with pleasant acidity, plenty of taste and typical spiciness.

Alter Weingarten

The Alter Weingarten from the 2017 vintage is proof that the Eisenberg not only provides the perfect conditions for red wine, such as Blaufränkisch, but also that excellent white wines can been grow here, too.

Alter Weingarten is matured for 12 months in 225 litre and 600 litre barrels and should definitely be aged for another year or two. This wine is anything but your typical summer wine and should be enjoyed with a hearty meal.

DAC

Eisenberg DAC

Proudly carrying the DAC label, it is the archetypical Eisenberg Blaufränkisch with its cherry to sour cherry bouquet, its delicately nuanced structure, and its refreshing acidity.

Aged in wooden barrels for some time, it makes a good match with stuffed poussin or chicken in paprika sauce, yet also with barbecued dishes.

Eisenberg DAC Reserve

A top-quality wine – vinified with the utmost care and sourced from the best sites on the Eisenberg and in Deutsch-Schützen featuring up to 30-year-old vines.

Their deep roots extract the region‘s taste, and its typical character is evident in every single sip:
vigorous and full-flavored, with balanced tannins. Has a high aging potential. Ideal with roast beef or lamb and dark gravy dishes.

Eisenberg DAC Spätfüllung

Speciality! This Blaufränkisch was only fermented with natural yeast and then aged for six years in a large oak cask.

This versatile accompaniment for meals has mature plum flavours and a mineral aftertaste.

Spirit

Pomace Brandy

South Burgenland “grappa”, although here it is called “Trebener” since time immemorial and as such has warmed the heart for generations.

It goes without saying that this spirit is made only of the best Blaufränkisch grapes. Being of high quality, it is aged in glass containers. You should activate your senses with it once in a while! Or try it after a serious snack.
